The monthly meeting of Chatham Retired Educators Association was held on February 12, 2024 at the Rebecca Padgett Event Center on Highway 17 (Ogeechee Road). The meeting opened with President-Elect, Mrs. Princetta Simmons, presiding. Following the inspiration and prayer by Mrs. Rosa Jackson, President Mrs. Carrie Howard continued the meeting. The Center was beautifully adorned in festive Valentine's Day red with CREA members wearing the colors also!
Mrs. Katee Macauley, Health Educator for the Georgia Department of Health, spoke about the signs of heart disease, healthy eating and what we can do to control our weight.
Mrs. Lorraine Bowers, President of the Chatham Association of Educators, spoke about volunteering in the local school system. Mrs. Mary Shank encouraged members to join or renew membership in Phi Delta Kappa.
Door prizes were presented with proceeds from the gifts going towards the scholarship fund. After all reports were made, the meeting was adjourned with a closing prayer and grace by Mrs. Rosa Jackson.
A delicious buffet was prepared by a local catering company.
