Welcome to the Chatham Retired Educators Association
The Chatham Retired Educators Association (CREA) is a local unit of the Georgia Retired Educators Association established in 1958. CREA was established in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia in 1972. "Fellowship..Support..Service" is our motto. Members of CREA/GREA are afforded the opportunity to benefits such as lower rates on dental and vision insurance, long-term care insurance, and travel opportunities to name a few. GREA and its members are the active voice for all retired educators with the the Georgia state legislature and the Teachers Retired System of Georgia (TRS).

GREA President's Project for 2022-2023 - The March of Dimes
President, Dr. Henrietta Gray's project for the 2022-2023 year is the March of Dimes. To support the president's project, the Chatham Retired Educators Association hopes to participate in various activities around the County. The local unit is challenged to raise $350.00. 2022 Dewey Lee Scholarship Winner Named
The recipient of the 2022 Dewey Lee Scholarship is Olivia A. Holt!
Ms. Holt is a graduate of Savannah State University and a native of Augusta, Georgia. She completed her student teaching in Middle Grades Education at Sarah Mills Hodge Elementary School.
At Savannah State University, Ms. Holt was involved with the NAACP, Educators Rising Organization, and SSU Pre-Alumni Council. Her awards and honors include the HOPE Scholarship, The Christian Science Monitor Podcaster, the National Society of Ledership and Success. Ms. Holt has attended Savannah State University's Honor Convocation since 2019.
Olivia's field of interest includes educational leadership, educational technology, and educational pedagogy. Her major is Middle Grades Education with a concentration of English Language Arts/Social Studies. Her goal is to obtain a Doctoral Degree and one day she plans to become a Dean of an HBCU College/University.
