The Chatham Retired Educators Association (Chatham REA) kicked off the 2024-2025 year at its first meeting on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Rebecca Padgett School of Performing Arts, 5918 Ogeechee Road.
The Chatham REA Officers for 2024-2025 are: President-Mrs. Princetta Simmons, President Elect, Dr. Gordon Baker, Past-President- Mrs. Carrie Howard, Secretary-Ms. Gail Moyer, Assistant Secretary- Mrs. Alvernia Jackson, Treasurer- Mrs. Wilmotine Ellis, Assistant Treasurer Mrs. Mary Shank, Parliamentarian- Mrs. Johnye Gillans, and Chaplain-Mrs. Rosa Jackson. It was great to see returning members and welcome new members! Our featured speakers were Ms. Lola Shelton from the Live Oak Public Libraries, and Ms. Katee Sykes from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Members born in the months of May-September were recognized. President Simmons shared her goals for Chatham REA. Prizes were awarded throughout the meeting. Members were asked to wear the colors red and black to honor GREA President, Mrs. Shirley Grant. The next meeting will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am. at the Rebecca Padgett School of Performing Arts, 5918 Ogeechee Road. Sign in begins at 10:30 am.
